Jake's ATV Hare Scramble Racing history:
Jake turned 80 in March of 2017, with 29 Years of XC Quad Racing, the Oldest GNCC Off-Road Racer in History(80, ATV), the 2001 Parts Unlimited National Utility Champion & 2003 Eastern National Utility Champion, ran the "Blackwater 100" 3 times, and has 30+ 1st Place Finishes!
Jake made his way back to the track in 2017, competing in 9 Races, including the 2017 GNCC Ironman in Indiana, IATVHSS Round 7 in Iowa, and the OMA Moose Run in Illinois, in back-to-back-to-back weekends, finishing 3rd, 5th and 4th! #Legend!!

"Got smoked down, "lost my area", super muddy track, 3rd time around came in too hot, went off a bank. Woke up looking at the sky!"
1989 - Flat River GP - Raced 2 Classes in one day:
"Raced Senior ATV first race. Mike Burkhardt, owner of Kahoka track, saw I was at the race and asked if I was in his class, but I told him I was racing my Blaster and he had his 250R so he wasn't worried. I was standing their talking to my buddies, and they said your class is starting, better go. I said nah, I had plenty of time left. My class took off and I was still standing there with no helmet on. Finished 8th. Second race, 200cc 2-Stroke class, finished 4th when I got a flat tire on the last lap, in 1st I think. Don't quote me on that."
Jake's first Hare Scramble Race was around 1988 with his son Garry, likely at Eagleville, Missouri on 1988 model 250 4-stroke quads. "We got smoked by the 2-strokes so we traded ours in for the next race". His first GNCC Race was 1990 at Loretta Lynn's, one of his favorite tracks.
